Chevra, this week’s parsha is בְּרֵאשִׁית (Beresheit). We have made it through all the holidays and have restarted reading the Torah, just in time to start re:Invent season. If anyone is going, I’ll be happy to meet you. I’ll be the one with the built-in wifi (I have Peyot). What’s interesting about the parsha is that we have the creation story twice. Maybe it’s so that both S3 and SQS can claim to be the first AWS Service? (S3 was first into production, SQS was the first into Beta/Preview). Soon after the creation of the world, we start running into problems. There is eating from the forbidden fruit and the first murder. I guess Man’s original fail fast was on a severe level. I would have hoped that we have learned much since then, but reading the news tells me we still have a ways to go. On the bright side, it is possible to find a community either in-person or online that is nurturing and takes care of each other.
