Chevre, this week’s parsha is Shelach Lecha (שלח לך). The majority of this week’s parsha is taken up with the scouts and the fall out from their, mostly, ill report. I heard this week a Dvar Torah that talked about the word ממנו, usually translated as from us. This is the word used to say that the residents of Caanan are bigger than us. But the take in the Dvar Torah I heard was that the residents of Caanan are bigger than him. Here talking about HaShem. And this was the bigger sin than looking at their foe as bigger than themselves, but bigger than HaShem. This was then compared against the existing war currently waging in The Middle East.
From a cloud perspective, I work in and for a specific cloud and don’t pay too much attention to the others, but some of my podcasts do talk about the others. Each customer needs to make a determination as to what is the best direction for them and their workloads in regards to reliability, scalability and cost. We work with customers to present the options available to them with any pros and cons and the customer makes a decision.
The comparison between protecting your country and selecting a cloud service or provider are unsubstantial. But it makes for an interesting thought experiment.
On the personal side, this is my bar mitzvah parsha (37 years ago) and the parsha ends in the Mitzvah of tzit tzit. I happened to purchase new tzit tzit last week and finished tieing them in my safe room. I hadn’t even thought about the connection with the parsha until I saw the cover of a weekly Torah magazine. I guess I was living the parsha without thinking about it.
Shabbat Shalom.
