Chevre, this week’s parsha is מַטּוֹת - מַסְעֵי (Matot - Masei) and Shabbat is Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av. This week we conclude Sefer Bamidbar. In previous years I have written about the Multi-AZ aspect of the region with 2.5 Tribes electing (pushing) to stay on the East side of the Jordan River and the rest coming into Eretz Yisrael proper on the West side. Maybe this is even more poignant now that we are building an AWS region here in Israel. And I have also mentioned the concept that the 2.5 tribes actually pulled the Kedusha (Holiness) of Eretz Yisrael Eastward so that Moshe would actually be buried in Eretz Yisrael and that he was able to walk the land for a short time before passing. What really strikes me this week is the connection between the Torah Parsha and what we see happening inside AWS. There is a list of leaders for each tribe which mirrors the change in AWS CEO and Amazon CEO. I’ve always heard it’s a good thing to see your daily life in the pages of the weekly parsha.  I wish everyone a Shabbat Shalom, Chodesh Tov and may the 3 weeks and 9 days of the lead up to Tisha BeAv become a time of joy soon.
