Chevre, this week’s parsha is וַיֵּצֵּא (Vayetze). This is coming out later than normal because I’m at re:Invent. I expect to be back to the regular time next week. The parsha this week includes several deceits from Lavan toward Yaakov. He switches Leah for Rachel and tricks Yaakov to work an additional 7 years. He switches the agreement on which goats Yaakov will be granted because the circumstances changed and Lavan consistently wanted the upper hand. The situation got so bad that Yaakov decided to run away with his family. When Lavan catches up with Yaakov he speaks as if Leah and Rachel were his possesions indicating a possible reversal of the marriages that were already completed. All of these issues reinforce the need for security to be the foundation of what we do in the cloud. We expect the folks we deal with to do the right thing, but computers will often react in unexpected ways and there are always edge cases to what we build. Security being the foundation gives us the best chance to protect ourselves and our users. Shabbat Shalom from Las Vegas.
