Chevre, this week’s parsha is Balak (בָּלָּק). I think this is the parsha of the AWS TAM (Technical Account Manager). Balak, the leader of Amorah, turns to Balaam who is connected with HaShem for help. Balaam states, I can’t do anything that The Service Team (or HaShem, the one who runs the world) says I can’t do. Balak, we’ll call him the customer, pushes and pushes Balaam for something he (Balaam) has no control over. At some point, Balaam gets frustrated and receives a magical indication that he’s headed for danger. In the story, his donkey talks to him. In the TAM world, they will get some kind of indication from other TAMs or the Service Team, that the request from Balak is dangerous. Balaam tries everything he knows to get assistance, but nothing seems to work. In the end, Balaam discovers a workaround (often called a kludge) that works, but not directly what the customer (Balak) wanted. Be nice to your TAM. Shabbat Shalom
