Ki Tisa - 2024

Chevre, this week’s parsha is Ki Tisa (כִּי תִּשָּׂא). This week, the biggest impact of the parsha is the sin of the Golden Calf. There are different commentaries that say many interesting things. What I think is important, is that we got through it. It happened on Tisha BeAv which also is the same day on the Hebrew Calendar that both Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed, but we got through those as well. I remember in a previous job there was a major issue and I was literally freaking out. My boss came over to me and said “let’s get a cup of coffee.” He doesn’t even drink coffee. The point was, that when dealing with an issue, no matter how severe, you need to have a clear head and not make things worse. So let’s take a minute, calm down and work the problem. As a TAM that has supported customers through some major events, I feel the pressure and I also feel the pressure from the internal teams that they need the time and space to analyze the issue. That puts the support folks between a rock and hard place. Kinda like the between the tablets and the rock they hit when Moshe through them down. And even today as Am Yisrael is going through a war and increased anti-semitism around the world, we will get through this together. We need to do what needs to be done, stay as safe as possible, and stick together. Am Yisrael Chai. Shabbat Shalom.
