Chevre, this week’s parsha is Vayeira (וירא). The parsha starts with the 3 visitors, we can call them VPs or VIPs, they show up in the middle of Avraham recovering from his Brit Millah (Circumcision), the important people always show up at the worst times. However, their message this time is that Avraham and Sarah will have a new delivery, a new project, a son.

Next there is the destruction of Sodom. Avraham is leading the charge to try to prevent the incident, but it happens anyway. In there is also the story of Lot, trying to prevent the abuse of the VPs. Eventually a Security Group (firewall rule) is brought up causing blindness to the people trying to attack/abduct the VPs. I guess this is a form of Bio-Hacking. Lot escapes.

Sarah is abducted in Gerar, but a health hazard to the people results in her being released. We can consider this a network mis-configuration that caused issues and was releaved when the change was rolled back.

Isaac is born. But then we have the conflict between the old project (Hagar and Ishmael) and the new project (Isaac) for funding (aka attention from the parents). The old project is out-cast, but then they realize it’s load-bearing (Avraham doesn’t want to give up on them) and so they are brought back.

And then we have the binding of Isaac (The Akedah). This is where the business is insisting on taking down the new project, but they realize at the last minute that this is even more profitable and load-bearing than the old project.
