Vayeitzei - 2018

Chevra, this week’s parsha is Vayeitzei. In this week’s parsha, Yaakov goes to Haran and meets Lavan. He marries Leah and then Rachel, and their handmaidens and has 12 of his 13 children that we are told about. He worked for Lavan for 20 years (7 years for Leah, 7 years for Rachel, and 6 years for the cattle). Now we know that Yaakov must have spent a lot of time out in the field watching over the flocks, so he must have had great 4G so he could stay connected with the cloud. He also says he didn’t sleep those 20 years and that any damage to the flock was on his account. I expect he had Rekognition with some ML/AI that would alert him when a predator came close to where his flock was being held. We know that Israeli cows are the most productive milk cows in the world [1], it is obvious that it all started with Yaakov’s use of AWS when he was in Haran.  Shabbat Shalom.
