Bamidbar - 2020

Chevre, this week’s parsha is בְּמִדְּבַּר (Bamidbar) and today is also Yom Yerushalayim. The sefer starts off with CloudWatch (Athena, but can we talk about a Greek god in relation to the parsha?) and the counting of the members of the tribes. What is interesting is comparing this list with the list that happens later (after the 40 years). And the tribes count is from age 20 and above. Levi, however, is counted separately and they count from 1 month and above. There is also a division of responsibilities for the Leviim.
Today is also Yom Yerushalayim. We commemorate the miracle of the 6 day war and the return of our capital to Israel. It’s like you deleted an S3 bucket and then suddenly remember you had object replication enabled. It’s also special because it’s the day I proposed to my wife. ;-)
Chag Sameach and Shabbat Shalom
