Devarim - 2020

Chevre, this week’s parsha is דְּבָרִים (Devarim). There is a famous story about a time when a businessman asked Rav Kook about making aliyah. The man had dealings back home and would it be financially viable for him. Rav Kook answered that when Bnei Yisrael were on their way to Eretz Yisrael, the first war they had on entry was with Sichon Melech Heshbon. In the realm of Aliyah, the first thing you need to do is to kill any accounting (Heshbon). As a TAM, I spend a lot of time looking at customer’s bills and usage. And while killing accounting would be nice, from the AWS side, it’s better to cost optimize and use all the tools and services available to show the customer that it’s more efficient, productive and cost effective to move to AWS. And once they are in AWS and have moved everything to the cloud (or even a majority), they can make Aliyah and run the business remotely. Shabbat Shalom.
