Chevre, this week’s parsha is מִקֵּץ (Miketz). In this week’s parsha we have Pharoah’s dreams that can’t be interpreted. His cup bearer remembers Yosef, who is still in jail, and he is summoned. Yosef is able to interpret Pharoah’s dreams and Pharoah puts him in charge of the operation of saving food for the lean years. This is truly a rags, from prison, to riches, running Egypt the Super Power of the time. In the tech world, it used to be that anyone in a garage could over throw the incumbent tech giants. These days, those garages are more likely to be startups running on the cloud. The cloud is the enabler during lean times, like Covid, or during good times, BC or Before Covid, for anyone to have a good idea and get it going quickly and scalable on the Internet. I certainly hope this Covid lean time does not take 7 years to play out and that we will all be back together soon. Shabbat Shalom.
