Chevre, this week’s parsha is וַיִּקְרָא (Vayikra). This book of the Torah was called The Book of Cohanim by the Sages because it is very centered around the avodah of the priests in the Mishkan or Beit HaMikdash. I found in the parsha an interesting passage that talks about when the entire congregation makes a mistake and the matter is hidden from them. Given that we are all sitting at home and can’t see the enemy in the war raging around us, I connected with this passage. At the same time, it also reminds me of the joke, if an EC2 instance falls over and no one notices, does it make a sound? Especially if they don’t have any CloudWatch metrics or alerts on that instance AND if they aren’t saving CloudTrail. May we all cherish this special time with our family. It was strange to be davening Kabbalat Shabbat at home with my son alone, but it was also very special. (neither of us can keep a tune). Enjoy a relaxing Shabbat and put the computer and phone down for a few hours and do something special with your family. Just make sure it’s within 100m of your house! Shabbat Shalom and I look forward to seeing you all again soon in the office, some day.
