Chevre, this week’s parsha is וַיֵּשֶׁב (Vayeshev). In this week’s parsha we start to focus on the next generation. Like upgrading from c5 instances to c6i or c6g types. Yaakov has a favorite son (pets not herds), Yoseph, who is a dreamer and doesn’t understand when to keep his dreams to himself. This causes friction between the brothers. Yaakov sends Yoseph to check on his brothers. They throw him in a pit and sell him into slavery to be brought to Mitzrayim. There he encounters a number of challenges including the attractions of his master’s wife and interpreting dreams from some fellow prisoners. Through it all, Yoseph focuses on what he’s meant to do. To be the best he can. This is a message for us, we can’t always control every aspect of our situations. But how we react to them or prepare for them can change how it affects us. If we plan for potential outages, and test for them, then when they really happen it’ll be more like another day at the office instead of a big emergency. May we all be as prepared as possible for the hard times to make them as small as possible. Shabbat Shalom.
