Chevre, this week’s parsha is עֵקֶב (Ekev). As part of the repetition in the book of Devarim, there is a paragraph this week that talks about HaShem’s miracles. I see these every day. I have Lambdas that are in the free tier that help automate work for me. Magically things like S3 inventory reports and Cost and Usage Reports arrive and are accessible via Athena. Lifecycle policies for EBS volumes and S3 buckets move objects between storage tiers and expire resources to save costs. Errors are caught by CloudWatch alarms and notify me to any problems. And I see in my daily Cost Explorer view that I’m paying pennies per day for these things that would have taken me months to build on-prem and wouldn’t be as robust and professional. And finally, I love that the upgrades to all these services are available to my personal account where I pay my pennies per day as well as my customers that pay a few more pennies per day. We all live in amazing times and I appreciate the equalizing that the cloud has provided. Shabbat Shalom.
