Chevre, this week’s parsha is כִּי תֵצֵא (Ki Tetzeh). There are a number of laws that are mentioned this week. 2 in particular stood out to me. The first is that when a worker is working in your vineyard, they are allowed to eat of the fruit. And there are a number of gifts to the poor including leaving the corners of your fields unharvested for the poor, the forgotten sheif is left for the poor and anything that is dropped is left for the poor. These rules between people are important for the fair treatment of our fellow people and for the care of the less fortunate. These may not fall squarely into Amazon Leader Principles, but the ideas behind treating others well is important. And not just our customers, but the treating of everyone as important because each person we meet was created through a miracle and in the image of HaShem. So while we may get frustrated with others (or even ourselves), it’s important to remember to treat everyone with respect, especially the AWS Support Folks who deal with some of our customers on their most challenging days. Shabbat Shalom.
