Chevre, this week there is no parsha and no parsha next week either. Tonight starts Sukkot, where we go out and build a temporary hut and “live” in it for the next week. We also take up the 4 species (the arba minim), however, we do not use them on Shabbat, so we will only take them up starting on Sunday.

I have a friend, many years ago, who was an early adopter of early wifi so that he could support a work project from his Succah during the intermediate week (Chol HaMoed). I remember one Sukkot sitting in my Succah and supporting an AWS AZ outage, an extremely rare occurrence. And now these days, we can sit in the succah with our phones, our tablets, our laptops or whatever and stream videos, talk to anyone in the world. Since we can do this from virtually anywhere (I once streamed a video from my home server while on a flight in the US), really “moving” into the Succah is possible. Just make sure all your technologies and entertainments aren’t keeping the neighbor’s kids up, they’re out in a hut too.
