Korach - 2021

Chevre, this week’s parsha is קֹרַח (Korach). In addition to Korach and family being swallowed up by the earth and there happened to be a sink hole at Share Tzedek Hospital this week [1]. If I was taking this week’s parsha as notes on a loop, I don’t think Korach would do very well. He says he’s Customer Obsessed, but seems to lack Have Backbone, Disagree; and Commit. Maybe Moshe could use more Are Right A Lot in getting opinions, but he did take advice from his father-in-law and create the Sanhedrin (Invent and Simplify). We see that Korach isn’t happy with his assigned slot. He wants what is his and what is someone elses. In Halacha, this is the definition of a Rasha (רשע bad person). I’m not saying Korach was bad, I’m saying what he did was bad. What’s the difference? People are complicated and in Judaism, everyone has the ability to repent or do Teshuvah. May we all have the strength to reflect on our actions and always work to improving and helping others improve themselves with love. Don’t worry, I won’t send you a survey.

And for anyone that hasn’t seen the news yet, Israel is getting an AWS Region! [2]
