Chevre, this week’s parsha is Vayikra (וַיִּקְרָא), Parshat Zachor (זכור) and erev (the day before) Purim. This week we start to get the rules for the operation of the Mishkan (Tabernacle). There is a line that states “You shall season your every offering of meal with salt; you shall not omit from your meal offering the salt of your covenant with God; with all your offerings you must offer salt.” Rashi says this was an agreement from the creation of the world when the waters seperated that the lower waters (the oceans) would be offered up on the alter. When possible, Dead Sea salt was used to carry out this task. The seperation of the waters always reminds me of the shared responsibility model. A clear delineation of where this ends and the other begins. I’m wondering if there is a way to have a daily reminder for customers (or some automatic reminder) so that customers would remember which party (or side of the equation) is responsible for what aspects of their cloud workload.
This is also the special parsha of Zachor (Remember) where we remember what Amalek did to us. Haman from the Megilla is a decendant of Agag from Amalek. So we remember what they did to us in the desert by reading that portion of the Torah this week. Kinda like we all remember when we tried to bring up some workload and ran into major errors. We remember what happened in the cloud on that day. And AWS even has a commemorative page. They learn from their mistakes. And we should learn from ours too. https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/technology/pes/
Shabbat Shalom. Purim Sameach
