Vayikra - 2024

Chevre, this week’s parsha is Vayikra (וַיִּקְרָא), Parshat Zachor (זכור) and erev (the day before) Purim. This week we start to get the rules for the operation of the Mishkan (Tabernacle). There is a line that states “You shall season your every offering of meal with salt; you shall not omit from your meal offering the salt of your covenant with God; with all your offerings you must offer salt.” Rashi says this was an agreement from the creation of the world when the waters seperated that the lower waters (the oceans) would be offered up on the alter.
