Chevra, this week’s parsha is שֹׁפְטִים. Last year I wrote about the cities of refuge, so I won’t revisit that. There is an interesting line in the parsha that states you should not move the boundary of your fellow. When I look at this with my Amazonian eyes, I think about seperating workloads into multiple AZs and see this as a caution for ensuring that my workloads are all multi-az. Of course, things like serverless allow Amazon to worry about this for me so I can have a restful Shabbat.
