Vayishlach - 2019

Chevra, this week’s parsha is וַיִּשְׁלַח (Vayishlach). In this parsha we have Yaakov confronting Esav, but before that he spends the night fighting with a “man”. There are a lot of ideas who this “man” or angel was. One idea is that Yaakov was fighting with himself (like an Aurora storage sync about who had what data first), who he wants to be. When he comes out of the battle, he is told he’ll get the name Yisrael and he is no longer passive, but is active.
