Chevre, this week’s parsha, in Israel, is שְׁלַח לְךָ (Shelach Lecha). This week’s parsha, my Bar Mitzvah parsha, starts with Moshe sending scouts (often called spies) out to the Land of Israel. Rather than coming back and reporting to Moshe or the leadership, they come back (all but 2) with the stories of impregnable fortifications and giant people. HaShem declares this people will not enter Israel, but will wander the desert for 40 years.
