Yitro - 2023

Chevre, this week’s parsha is יִתְרוֹ (Yitro). Yitro is Moshe’s father-in-law. We’ll call Yitro a TAM (Technical Account Manager). He comes to the Israelite camp, looks around and sees Moshe sitting all day being the judge of everthing himself. So he suggests that maybe there is a way to introduce scaling into the judging system (workload) so that Moshe isn’t doing all the heavy undifferentiated heavy lifting himself. The complicated cases (we call these exceptions) will come to him, but the rest can be handled by lower “courts”.
