Chevre, this week’s parsha is וַיְחִי (Vayechi). We have the last Parsha of Beresheit and the end of Yaakov. He brings Yosef’s sons, Ephraim and Menashe, close to give them a blessing. Yaakov and Yosef have this interaction where Yosef wants Yaakov’s right hand (primary bracha) to Ephraim, the younger, but Yosef wanted his right hand on Menashe. One of the blessings that Yaakov gives to Yosef’s sons is one that we bless our children nightly with and we sing together when the children get an Aliyah to the Torah on Simchat Torah.
