Toldot - 2021

Chevre, this week’s parsha is תּוֹלְדֹת (Toldot). Nearly the entire parsha is comprised of the relationship between Esav and Yakov. Starting with them fighting in Rebecca’s womb, Esav coming home from the hunt and selling his birthright to Yakov and culminating with Yakov stealing Esav’s blessing and fleeing the country. When Rebecca sees that Yitchak is getting ready to bless Esav, she prepares Yakov to take his place. She makes the food for the meal and dresses Yakov in Esav’s clothing.
