Chevre, this week’s parsha is דְּבָרִים (Devarim). There is a famous story about a time when a businessman asked Rav Kook about making aliyah. The man had dealings back home and would it be financially viable for him. Rav Kook answered that when Bnei Yisrael were on their way to Eretz Yisrael, the first war they had on entry was with Sichon Melech Heshbon. In the realm of Aliyah, the first thing you need to do is to kill any accounting (Heshbon).
